Grace Is Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding from God

Grace is that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding which comes from God.

What We Do with Grace Determines How Much More of It We Receive

When we return to God in prayer to seek more grace, He asks what we have done with the portion of grace we last received from Him.

Those who have used grace wisely receive more.  Those who don’t, go away empty-handed.

Grace is meant to be used (i.e. expended) – to be employed in the service of others.

“For whoever has grace, to him more grace shall be given, and he will have an abundance of grace; but whoever does not have grace, even what grace he has shall be taken away from him.”

Grace:  use it or lose it.

We Receive Grace in Order to Expend It

God has made us to be vessels of grace.  That is, we are to be the means through which His grace reaches more than just us.

God is not generous with us so that we can be stingy with others.  God is not forgiving with us so that we can be unforgiving with others.  God is not merciful to us so that we can be judgmental toward others.

We who bear His name are to be a conduit of His grace to others.  Therefore, let us store it up…that we may pour it out.

Those Who Seek His Grace Find It

Our hearts were made to absorb His grace as a sponge absorbs water.

When we pray – that is, when we call on His name – His grace seeps into our hearts.  The more effective the prayer, the more grace we store.

Close your door and spend private time with Him.  Enrich your heart with His goodness.  Let your heart be filled in those times.

His Grace Is Sufficient for Us

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient for us.  It is more than enough.

He lived a life that has become our example and our inspiration.

He did not seek His own will but rather the will of the One who sent Him.  Neither did He seek His own good but that of others.

As someone has said, God will never lead us where His grace cannot sustain us.

No matter what is facing you today, His grace is sufficient for you.

The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ Be with You

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ includes wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Him.

May the wisdom of His ways inform your decisions.

May the knowledge of His patience and kindness reside always in your consciousness.

May the understanding only He can give imbue your every thought toward others.

This grace of His will continually replenish your soul.  Keep it always with you…and you will be given even more along the way.

He Who Created Us Without Our Help, Will Save Us Without Our Help

God created us without any help from us.  Therefore, we should not be surprised that He saves us without any help from us.

Everyone Is Going to Heaven (I say this to comfort those of you who truly love Him.  Of course, it is true; otherwise, I would not say it.)

Having taken care of our birth and death, however, what happens in between those two milestones is very much a function of our interaction, or lack thereof, with Him.

Therefore, seek Him with all your heart and He will shower you with love that you did not know existed.

Grace and Peace to You

We know what God has waiting for us when we go to Him:  grace and peace.

When you pray, therefore, be looking for grace and peace.  Be aware that God may discipline you.  That is, you may sense correction from Him through your conscience.  This does not mean He is at war with you.  On the contrary, He has declared peace through Jesus Christ where we are concerned.  But as a loving father disciplines his son, so God will discipline us.  In fact, His correction is an aspect of His grace.  For the grace is there to help us in time of need.  And if we have been living unrighteously, forgiveness and correction are what we need most.  (Forgiveness without correction would leave us continuing to sin – how would that be helpful?)

Therefore, don’t look for trouble when you go to God.  Look for grace and peace.

Grace Does You No Good if You Do Nothing with It

God gives His grace freely.  However, we must receive that grace for it to help us.

Receiving God’s grace means accepting and acting upon it.

By God’s grace, we know that Jesus is the way of salvation.  But we must walk in that way of salvation for it to do us any good.

Alas, there are millions who call themselves Christians, who have received an abundance of God’s grace, and yet have done little to nothing with it.

By the grace of God, we know that Jesus is Lord.  But if we do not obey Him, what good is that knowledge?  This is what the Bible calls “receiving the grace of God in vain.”

The Fountainhead of All Grace

Jesus Christ is the fountainhead of all grace.  He is the headwaters of all the streams and rivers of living water.

Christ Himself is this source.

He intends to be just that personal to you and me.

There is nothing about grace that is impersonal.  Christ is our intensely personal supplier of grace.

If we wish to find grace, we know to whom we must go.
