How can God love the world?

We have heard that “God so loved the world that…” – but how can God love a world of people who are so often sinning?  How can God love a world with so many people who won’t do anything He says?

What love cannot enjoy, it endures.

Love is patient,
love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant,
does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
– 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Even sinners eventually fall asleep or die.  Love endures forever.  His righteousness simply outlasts all unrighteousness.

Therefore, let us reverse course and walk in His steps.

We love, because He first loved us.
– 1 John 4:19

  1. Our Creator is much more active than most people understand. Pride goes before a fall because He punishes pridefulness. Yes, He is longsuffering but this doesn’t stop Him from punishing pridefulness when He deems the time is right for this.

  2. Yes, you are right: our Creator is much more active than most people understand. The secular orthodoxy of evolution – taught in all the public schools and referenced in our news media as “settled science” – has made God into a mere observer of our activities, if anything at all…but this secular orthodoxy is a lie.
