More Thoughts on Being a Disciple 2 of 7

A Disciple Spends Time with the Teacher

It should go without saying that to be a disciple requires spending time with the teacher.  However, many people seem to think that being a disciple means spending time with other disciples.

You don’t become a disciple by affiliation with other disciples.  You become a disciple by affiliation with the teacher.

Any teacher or parent can tell you that merely putting a child in a desk in a classroom does not make him a learner.

If you are determined to be a disciple of Jesus know that this requires spending time with Him.  There is no substitute.

He’s as close as the mention of His name, but many people ignore Him nonetheless.

Even people who give Him lip service are willing to ignore Him in their thought lives.  Don’t be one of them.

Be still, and know that I am God…
–  Psalm 46:10 KJV
