“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
– John 16:33
Therefore we read the Bible – where we can find the things spoken to us by Jesus – and receive His peace.
Many, if not most, of our fellow citizens have chosen to ignore the light of Jesus – even many of them who would call themselves by His name. Yet if they support abortion of children, redefinition of marriage, and alteration of God’s design for men and women, how can they be walking according to the light of His teachings?
You can either walk with Him or you can walk with them – you cannot walk with both because they are going in opposite directions.
We live in this world and therefore must live with those who choose to walk in darkness. More than merely live with them, Jesus calls us to love them. But loving them does not mean agreeing with them or walking in the way that they walk. If you do not know how to love those who disagree with you without walking like they walk, you do not yet know much about the life that God is always living. He’s been loving people who disagree with Him without giving up His principles for as long as anyone can remember.
Therefore, learn to walk by a light that those around you are unable or unwilling to see. If you learn this well, you will actually be a light to them. And you will hasten the day that they open their eyes to Him who is the greatest light of all.
