Navigating the jungle of life

We navigate the jungle of life one day at a time.  Yesterday’s gone and tomorrow never arrives.  It’s always today when it comes to taking the next step.

How then do we navigate this jungle called life?  We look for the right path – as in the right thing to do.  The Bible calls it righteousness or justice or godliness.

Therefore, when you pray each day, pray for the knowledge of God’s will so that you might do it.  God’s will is revealed in terms of doing what is right – that is, doing good.  Your next step is always to do the right thing – to do what God would do in your shoes.

Even when someone does evil to us, we still want to do good in return.  As the Scriptures say:

Luke 6:35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

1 Peter 3:9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

1 Peter 4:19 Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

Therefore, when you’re confused and don’t know how to proceed through the jungle, just seek to know the right thing to do that day…or even in that moment.
