Be a Leader!

Be a leader, not a follower
Be a fisherman, not a fish
Be an example, not a statistic

Be a leader, not a follower

Most people just follow the crowd.  They go where the crowd goes.  The big problem with this approach is that the crowd blocks your line of sight so that you can’t see the cliff ahead of them.  Once they start going off the cliff, it’s too late for you to change direction; you’re going over it with them.

Leaders have figured out where the cliff is, and they are headed away from it.  And because they’re leaders, others peel off from the crowd and follow these leaders to safety.

Be a fisherman, not a fish

Fish are looking to feed themselves; fishermen are looking to feed others.  Look for ways to feed others – and don’t be anyone’s lunch.

Be an example, not a statistic

We only have one life to live here on this earth.  Let’s make our lives exemplary.  Otherwise, we’ll just be one more statistic.
