31 Things to Know About Jesus Christ: #14 – He had disciples

Jesus had disciples.

Jesus wasn’t a teacher without disciples.  He was a teacher with disciples.  That is, there were people who not only were impressed with the great things God was doing through Him, they wanted to learn from His teaching.  They wanted to know what God wanted of them.  What they learned was that God wanted them to be like the one who was teaching them.

It’s still true today that God wants us to be like Jesus.  Maybe we can’t imitate the miracles, but we can imitate the compassion that motivated them.  We can imitate the kindness which Jesus practiced.  We can imitate the integrity and courage He demonstrated.

Being a disciple of Jesus means learning.  And, specifically, it means learning to be like Jesus.
