Notice that we’ve been saying “God has given us a new conception of Himself through Jesus Christ,” and not “God has given us an additional conception of Himself through Jesus Christ. ” Proponents of the Trinity would have you believe the latter statement rather than the former one. But how does that help us? We’d have two God’s to deal with (not to mention the third), whose natures seem very different. One is scary and the other is kind. One is stern and the other is gentle. Forget the trinity as it’s an unbiblical and untrue concept. If you need help dropping it, read There Is No Trinity; There Is Christ and Posts to Date on the Trinity Versus Christ.
God wants us to have a relationship with Him. That starts with your recognizing that there is only one of Him, and His nature is the nature of Jesus Christ.
Yes, God lived with human limitation when He walked the earth as Jesus of Nazareth. But He is reigning in heaven today and forevermore – no longer hindered by the limitations of human nature. Remember the impression His human story has made on you and deal with Him in that way. He is that wonderful person you read or heard about. This was the very purpose He came and lived as a human – that you might know His heart.
Enjoy your relationship with Jesus, and let Him enjoy His relationship with you. No other human being can be part of this relationship. They can only be beneficiaries of it.
Remember: God is not just your Creator – He’s your Redeemer, too.
Bible notes on this post.
The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
