Many people want to be loved. Some just want to be respected. Others want to be better understood by those around them, and some people would like to be appreciated. Of course, many of us want all these things. Is there anything wrong with this?
If you are willing to be loved, respected, understood, and appreciated by God, there is no problem with wanting any of these things. God will be happy to satisfy you on all counts. If, however, you want these things from other people, there are going to be problems.
When you live for the approval of God, you make the world a better place. When you live for the approval of other people, you make yourself – and them – miserable most of the time. The term “people pleaser” carries a negative connotation for good reason. Be a God-pleaser.
Bible notes on this post.
The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
