The Judge

Most people don’t immediately think of Jesus as the Judge of heaven and earth…but He is.

He is the one overseeing the rise and fall of nations, and supervising the rise and fall of sparrows as well.  “He’s got the whole world in His hands.”

Just because Jesus has such an enormously important job doesn’t mean He’s not an approachable person.  On the contrary, He’s the most approachable person who ever lived.

Nevertheless, do not think that His kind and welcoming manner will cause Him to be anything less than objective and just when it comes to judging all our affairs.  Above all, God must be fair and not show partiality.  Therefore, serve Him in reverence and awe.  Fear the mighty power He has to save and destroy.

God’s desire is always to save us in any and every circumstance, but He will also do what is just and if we refuse His mercy we receive His judgment.  Fortunately, everyone is going to heaven…but you don’t want to have to go through hell to get there.

Be at peace with your neighbor, lest you get hauled before the Judge.  That is, love your neighbor as yourself.  Treat others as you would like to be treated.  This is the law of our Judge.

Call on His Name:  The Judge

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
