The Living One

Jesus Christ is “The Living One.”  He described Himself by just this name.

He is alive from the dead, ascendant in heaven, and present everywhere and at all times in the universe.  As someone has said, “In Him we live and move and have our being.”

Dwell on the meaning of this name.  He is alive forevermore!  His life is indestructible.  He will never die again.

We are the ones who are dead.  We need awareness of Him so that we can live.  When we’re not conscious of Him, we merely exist.

Call on His Name:  The Living One.

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.

  1. Susanne Schuberth (Germany) says:

In Him we live, we move, and have our being
And when He dwells in us, our eyes will see Him
Therefore we cannot die once more
When His Spirit’s life fills up the core

Our God can raise up children from a stone
Or breathe His Spirit in man’s dry bone
So that the dead indeed is born again
And gets new life for now and then

And I just pray that this feeling that makes me alive never ends…

Living as a dry bone that is dead means to live in the dark, not knowing where we could stumble next time. However, as soon as God makes us alive, we are suddenly able to anticipate what will happen in the future (“the things that are to come” Jn 16:13) according to God’s eternal plan.

Honestly, it isn’t always easy to believe that each and every decision I anticipated will be a lesson I’ve learned to guide me in the end… Indeed, following Him into the dark with no light or at least a spark – it was a frightening experience in the beginning of my spiritual journey with Jesus. But the more His light brightens our internal darkness (Jn 8:12), the more life/love/peace etc. we are able to feel and experience in Him.

    PS
A few final thoughts on our spiritual life with Christ who changes everything in our mind and soul.

I confess that I’m possessed, more or less…It’s a constant thought, which I never sought (i.e., loving God “with all your mind” Lk 10:24) but it’s finely wrought 😉

All you’ve lost will come again… just trust in Him, the Son of Man
He’ll feed your dreams and starve your fears… and the Lord will wipe away all tears (Is 25:8; Rev 7:17, 21:4)
…while you dance bestowed with pure delight as the day slips away into the night (2 Sm 6:14; Sg 1:16, 2:3)
