The Chief Shepherd

In ancient times, when herding sheep was a commonplace and important activity, the shepherd was used as the metaphor for a leader.  That is, kings were often called shepherds – they “shepherded” the people of the nation.

When Jesus is called the “chief shepherd” it’s an indication that He is the leader of leaders.  King of kings.  Lord of lords.  You get the idea.

Chew on it.

The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
