Many of us struggle with figuring out God’s will.
We cry out, sometimes repeatedly, to God: “O God, please tell me what you want me to do!” Then we fret over whether He will answer us.
The answer is there, if our hearts will simply be quiet enough to know it.
The answer is in our consciences. Our consciences don’t often tell us what to do in sentences we could write. Rather, we simply know what the right thing to do is. We don’t always know how we know – we just know that we know.
God’s will is always that we do what is good and right in His sight. It matters little how we know what that is. It matters only that we know it. And that we do it.
This is why our parents could tell us after we’d done some particularly bone-headed thing, “You know better than that!” We did know better. We just didn’t pay attention to what we knew. Our hearts were too busy with other thoughts.
Consider this and don’t struggle so much over figuring out God’s will. Just do what’s right – because that’s God’s will.
Bible notes on this post.
The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
