Can You See the Lord? – Part 2

It is not unusual to see a man reform his life when he meets the woman of his dreams and gets married.  He wants to do everything to please her, and thus alters his words and deeds to that which finds approval in her conscience.  Such a man can even be known to ignore disapproval from every other quarter as long as his wife is proud of him.

Such a pattern gives a way to understand how the Lord Jesus Christ redeems lives when we “see” Him.  His conscience is more pure and more demanding than that of any woman on earth.  Moreover, He sees into the thoughts of the heart which a human being can never do.  Thus, the purifying fire of His eyes can cleanse every part of a person who looks to Him.

When you look to the Lord you must want to live morally before Him.  Otherwise, you will not keep your eyes on Him.  You will hang you head in shame instead.

Put away your evil thoughts.  Put away evil speaking.  Put away your evil deeds.  Live only for His approval.  Do this every day.  All day long.  This is life.  The Bible calls it eternal life.  And it is ours…if we’ll but receive it and walk in it.

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to proclaim Jesus Christ to those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church – or anything else – but Him.
