The Dead Are Not Dead

No one who has died is dead.  Sure, they may be dead to this world and to us, but because of Jesus Christ they live in heaven now and forever.

Everyone who has died leaves this world but they enter a heavenly existence which is not subject to death.

Therefore, it is unwarranted and impractical for us to grieve as if we are not going to see our loved ones again.  We may grieve as those who will be parted for a while – but that’s all.  The dead are not dead and, for life’s sake, we must keep reminding ourselves of that fact.  To help, see Everyone Is Going to Heaven.

Many people today believe that there is no God and that there is no life after death.  Even these people go to heaven when they die.  Yes, this will surprise them…but happily so.   Nonetheless, they may regret that they did not believe while they were on earth.  Don’t be like them!  Enjoy this life morally by living for God, knowing that this is not all there is!

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ for those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church, organization, mailing list, or anything else other than Him.

  1. Steve says:

Ps. 37:9, 11, 29: “Evildoers themselves will be cut off, but those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth . . . The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.

Everyone does not go to heaven. What does “and they will reside forever upon it” mean to you?

    • Mike Gantt says:

Jesus said that the meek would inherit the earth (Matthew 5;5). This He knew from Psalm 37.

As for everyone going to heaven, that’s what happens after our time on earth.

  2. Steve says:

    Mike,
This does not make any sense and is out of step with what the bible teaches. Rather than assume, I will ask:

Are you stating that Ps. 37 is referring to now? If the meek are to inherit the earth now, what say the wicked and unrighteous that do so now also?

    • Mike Gantt says:

Yes, Psalm 37 is referring to now. Be aware, however, that our ultimate destination is not earth; rather, it is in heaven with the Lord.

  3. Steve says:

    Mike,
What you are stating is not what the Bible teaches. Even though you are entitled to your opinion, it is just that, an opinion. What you are stating is not supported throughout the Bible.

  4. Mike Gantt says:

Steve, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree about that.

  5. Steve says:

Agreed. On to the next subject.
