Does Jesus Make You Stop and Think?

Don’t you find Jesus an arresting thought?

I mean: the simple articulation of His life, death, and resurrection compels attention.  Oh yes, many have heard the story and become hardened to it.  They have closed up their hearts and feel no need to hear anymore.  Yet, the narrative begs curiosity from reasonable human beings.

Jesus’ life is calling our attention to something – to many things.  Most of all, it calls our attention to God…and to our own existence.  Why are we here?  Why do we all die?  Where are we going when we die?  These are just the beginning of questions Jesus provokes us to ask.

The good news is that He has answers for our questions.  Living our lives in ignorance of these answers – assuming we have opportunity to learn them – is foolish.  If you would know more about Him, you can start here with Jesus of Nazareth.  Or you can read one of the four gospels in the New Testament.  Or you can find a children’s book about Jesus, for most of them are faithful to the Scriptures.  Or you can pray.  He will speak to your conscience.   Repent of your sins – all the ones you are conscience of.  Seek Him and you will find Him.

Don’t just pass Jesus by as if there were nothing there worthy of your curiosity.

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ for those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church, organization, mailing list, or anything else other than Him.

  1. I love this post! Jesus is supremely worthy of our attention. There are all sorts of peripheral reasons to ignore him, but if we would just focus on him for a few real moments, we’d find him extremely important and challenging.
