Christ Is the Heir of All Things

The Bible declares Jesus Christ to be heir of all things.  That is, God became flesh and lived as Jesus of Nazareth two thousand years ago.  He lived a life of unparalleled righteousness, mercy, and generosity.  Because of His bold declarations of God’s truth He was tried, scourged, and crucified with common criminals.  Nevertheless, He was raised from the dead three days later, and ascended into heaven forty days after that.  From there, He inherited everything.  Everything!

Jesus Christ inherited all that was God’s, because Jesus Christ was God!  Therefore, everything you see today is His – including the chair in which you’re sitting, the room in which your chair sits, the building housing the room, the planet on which the building sits, and every star that can and can’t be seen.  Oh, and we shouldn’t forget you yourself – you are His, too!

Celebrate the fact that you – and all other things – are His.  It’s a wondrous and wonderful fact.  Be thankful.  Repent of your sins.  Live for Him to whom you belong.

Why did God devise a plan whereby He would go to all this trouble just to inherit what was already His in the first place?  To redeem us from sin and its temptations.  If you hate sin, you will love this plan.  If you are attached to your sins, you will not like this plan.  I hope you hate sin – and your own as much as anyone else’s.

Call on His name (all you have to say is “Jesus”) and He will cleanse you from your sins and teach you His righteousness in your heart.

One Response to Christ Is the Heir of All Things

  1. Susanne Schuberth (Germany) says:

There’s a place we belong where it’s safe and love is warm. 😉

‘Live for Him to whom you belong.’

He stretches out His inviting and warmth providing hand
Because He wants us to enter His hidden wonderland
