Jesus proclaimed that we should seek to enter the kingdom of God.
The kingdom of God is not a physical place. It’s not something only to be experienced once we die. It is here – in our midst. And ours for the seeking.
Jesus said many people would seek to enter the kingdom and not be able. He said that the rich would find it particularly hard. In fact, it is only possible to enter the kingdom with God’s help.
The most important requirement for entering the kingdom is righteousness. That is, we must be doing what is right in God’s eyes. This starts with faith, and specifically with the faith of a little child. That’s right: look to God as your Father and live your life before Him as a child utterly dependent on its father.
The kingdom of God cannot be discerned with physical senses. It is apprehended entirely by faith. Faith is inner conviction about the truth of God.
Act as if God loves you and that every thought you have matters to Him – because both are true. Acknowledge in your thoughts that He is present and attentive in every place you go – even if no one else acts like that’s the case.
Practice these things and you will grow in your awareness that, indeed, the kingdom of God is in our midst – just as Jesus said it would be.
Bible notes on this post.
The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ for those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church.
