Apart from God, Life Is Futile

Without an understanding of God, life is senseless.  The atheist has no reason for hope.  If he maintains hope, it is only in irrational defiance of his own bleak logic.

The life that we see always ends in death – whether one lives a righteous life or an unrighteous one.  There is no way to permanently get ahead.  Corruption and decay are woven into the fabric of the universe.  You can create and nurture the most beautiful garden.  Yet, the day you cease tending it, deterioration begins.

You are going to die – nothing is going to change that.  Whatever achievement you are working on, even if it is celebrated, will ultimately be forgotten.  There are towns and bridges and buildings all over the world named for people that no one any longer knows.

Life is futile…until you consider God.  He remains forever.  This is why you are wiser to give a cup of cold water to a thirsty person in His name than to become the richest person in the world.  Riches will fade but God will never forget a kindness shown Him.  Knowing that you have a future with God after this life, be wise and store up riches for yourself by doing good works in His name while you are still on earth.  You will be rewarded by God on earth, but much more in heaven.

Bible notes on this post.

The purpose of this blog is to praise Jesus Christ for those who want to hear about Him without having to join a church.
