The God who redeems us is the God who created and sustains us. Therefore, we should not be surprised that we can learn about His redemptive ways through the universe He has put around us.
One of the most easily seen, and foundational to understand, creation concepts is that of a seed. God works with seeds. Once planted, He makes them grow – underground and out of sight at first – until they are full-grown plants, much larger than the seed which produced them. These plants bear fruit for eating. The fruit also carries seed by which the process may be repeated.
Reflect on this and recognize that the same God who works in this way is the one who listens to your prayers. Many times people pray for fruit and don’t recognize the seed God bestows in their heart in response for what it is: a package carrying an infinite amount of fruit. Just as you cannot be a successful farmer without patience, neither can you successfully pray without patience.
Your relationship with God will strengthen as you realize that your times of prayer are for the nurturing of the garden of your heart. Be a patient farmer, and receive abundants harvests of answered prayer.
