Stop Looking for Jesus to Come from the Sky!

Jesus Christ is not going to return to the earth in physical form.  He came once in physical form and we crucified Him.  The Second Coming of Christ has already occurred, and was in the spirit; that is, unseen by physical eyes.  More specifically, Jesus came as God – because that’s who He is!  Yes, God did come and live among us as a human being named Jesus of Nazareth, but He ascended back to heaven and now reigns as the God Almighty He always was and always will be.

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.

  1. Don Hughes says:

Act 1:9-11, “After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”

Mike, scripture shows you wrong on universalism, The Church, Hell and now the second coming. Those are pretty basic issues of the faith.

On the contrary, it is Scripture that has refuted the traditional understandings to which you are so wedded. The verse you quote above on the Second Coming is an isolated reference, and from a non-literal translation at that (moreover, you’re missing its main point which is that it’s useless to look at the sky for Him). By contrast, I’ve published a full book on my blog site tracing the issue from one end of the Scriptures to the other (See Jesus Christ Has Already Come Again). I have provided similarly substantive biblical support for every major issue upon which I have taken a stand.

If your accusation is that I do not accept the entire evangelical party line, I stand guilty. But what drove me to this are two tenets which all evangelicals will say that they hold true: 1) The Bible is the word of God, and 2) The Bible is about Jesus Christ. If clinging tightly to these two truths leads me away from traditional church doctrine on other matters, so be it The Bible is filled with accounts of believers who chose truth God was revealing over prevailing man-made explanations. Surely you don’t think I’m the first.

Jesus Christ is Lord of all and worthy of the utmost devotion. The Bible is solemn and sworn testimony of His glory and grace. Upon these two supreme truths I stake and build everything I believe.

You, on the other hand, seem to have chosen social Christianity over spiritual Christianity. That is to say, fearing man instead of fearing God (Jeremiah 17:5-8).
