Regardless of what we think we need, what we really need is more righteousness (morality). If we had enough righteousness, everything else we need would come to us in abundance. This was the case for Jesus – why shouldn’t it be the case for His children?
We may think we need more money, or a newer car, or better clothes. The reality is that we need more righteousness. If we were more righteous, some of these things would become less important to us. As for those needs that remain, God will supply them in abundance.
Righteous living is a means of procuring every material need you have, as long as you remain content in whatever circumstances you find yourself. Sounds like a paradox, doesn’t it? Well, so does living on a planet that appears flat to the naked eye but is actually a ball spinning through space. Such is the fascinating nature of the creation which we inhabit! Lust and greed will tell us that we need all sort of things that we don’t have. Contentment tells us to forget those things and do what is right. Then we may count on the provision of God for whatever our true needs are.
Everything that is wrong with this world can be traced back to sin. Conversely, everything right and redemptive in this world can be traced back to righteousness. Whatever you may think you need, pray for righteousness every day.
The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.
