Center Your Thought Life on Your Conscience, Not Your Fears or Pleasures

Reorienting your life around God means reorienting your thought life around God.  What then shall be your measuring stick, your guide for inclusion in, or exclusion from, your thoughts?

Make conscience the center of your thought life.  Most people make as center either their fears or their pleasures.  The former people are always worried about something, always thinking and acting to protect themselves.  Usually they’re trying to protect themselves from pain or disappointment of some kind.  The latter are always seeking some new pleasure.  They can never be satisfied because all pleasures are short-lived and there are always new pleasures to pursue.  Both the former and the latter are pursuing paths away from God.

Conscience, however, is a path to God.   God Himself is guided by conscience.  Therefore, always occupy yourself with questions of duty before a loving God.  Do not worry about it.  Just always be open to seeing what God would have you do in any situation.  This is not burdensome thinking because most of the time it is very clear what God wants you to do.  He wants you to be kind to everyone.  He wants you to be forgiving.  He wants you to be of service to others.  He wants you to consider Him and others more important than yourself.

Always keep coming back to the center of conscience in your thoughts.  It is the guide through which God will speak (fears and pleasures are not His language).  In this way, your life will begin to look like that of Jesus Christ…and you will please God.

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.
