The Divorce Rate

Most people are aware that the divorce rate for the U.S. runs about 40-50%.  For second marriages, the rate actually increases.  And it increases again for third marriages.  Why?  Divorce is not a good solution.

God sanctions divorce in the case of adultery but hates the idea otherwise.  It should be no wonder why.  Since divorce rips apart the family at its core, society feels all the negative ripples.  We should not be surprised at our bevy of societal ills given the fact that the family core upon which it is based is unstable.  Society has a disease that attacks at the cell level.

What if God had believed in divorce as a solution?  Then when the human race turned against Him and sinned, He would have divorced it.  That would have left us in our sins.  He would have created another human race that was obedient to Him.  Because He didn’t believe in divorce, He stayed committed to us.  And now we’ll all go to heaven (see Everyone Is Going to Heaven), plus we can obey Him while we’re still on earth.

If you’re divorced, don’t worry about it.  This is not about making you feel guilty.  It’s about telling all the married people, “Stick with marriage; don’t divorce!”

Enjoy your relationship with God today, remembering that He kept His commitment to the relationship when you didn’t.  That’s why you have a relationship with God.

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.
