We live in the day of judgment anticipated by those who wrote the Bible. That is, we are being judged in life according to what we think, say, and do. When God judges us, however, He takes into consideration how much we know of His will.
This is just like a father and his children. The father expects more from the older child than he does from the younger child. Similarly, our heavenly Father expects more from some of us than He does from others. He also expects more from you this year than He did last year.
Because the Lord is fair, we can trust that His varying judgments are appropriate. We don’t have to concern ourselves or fret that someone else is getting away with something that would be a sin for us. Our attention needs to remain focused on the Master Himself – not any of the other servants. We are not judged by anything the other servants do or don’t do. We are only judged for ourselves.
If you want to grow in your relationship with God, recognize that you cannot feel the same approval in your soul from Him for things you did years ago when you didn’t know as much about Him. You can receive parental approval for actions at age 5 that will not be granted when you are 10 or 15 or 30. So conduct yourself today that you will live up to His standard for you today. He will bless your soul with joy and peace to the degree that you please Him. He is not hard to please, but neither is He a pushover.
The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.
