The Commandments of God Are For Our Good

The connotation carried by the word “commandment” in our culture today indicates just how far off base the culture has become.  For most people, “commandment” connotes joyless, uptight, restrictive, confining, demanding, and similar words and emotions.  For a sin-soaked culture, this is how awful the idea of “commandments” seems.

The reality, however, is just the opposite.  God gives commandments for our blessing, for our happiness.

What are His commandments?  That we love Him with all our heart and soul and mind and strength; and our neighbor as ourselves.  You have no idea how liberating these commandments are until you throw yourself into them.  Liberating?  Yes, liberating.  Moreover, faithfulness to these commands brings God’s blessings into our lives as further reward.

Stop living for yourself and give a week to living according to the commandments of God.  If you do, you will never go back!

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Jesus to those who want to hear about Him without having to join something.
