The God You Have Always Known

The God you have always known your entire life is Jesus Christ, even if you have not known Him by that name.  There is only one true God.  There is only one Creator.  He appeared on earth almost two thousand years ago as Jesus of Nazareth.  He ascended to heaven where He was before He came to earth, and from heaven He has reigned ever since.  And He will reign forevermore.

Whether or not you’ve known Him by the name Jesus, He’s always led you to do the right things in life – even when you haven’t followed Him.  He’s been a friend to you when you let Him.  As God, He is, of course, our Judge – the One who dispenses His judgments on the earth.  He has been far more intimately involved in your life than you ever realized.

The important point here is that you be reminded of what you already know:  There is only one God, and this God is Jesus Christ.  Your relationship with Him has nothing to do with church, and this is true whether you’ve attended church or haven’t.  He will answer to anyone who calls Him, no matter what name they use for Him.  But if you call to Him by the name of Jesus Christ, you will have a clearer perception of the Person with whom you are speaking – assuming you know something about the life He lived, the death He died, and the resurrection that sent Him back to His home in heaven.
