God was in the life of Jesus of Nazareth reconciling the world to Himself. He was not counting anyone’s trespasses against them. On the contrary, He was loving them as a mother loves her infant.
Through the resurrection, ascension, and coronation of Jesus Christ, that reconciliation is complete. We are now reconciled with God. And each one of us has been deputized as an agent of the reconciliation. Thus we are to be at peace with all men, not counting their trespasses against them.
We can be at peace with one another because God has made us to be one family on earth with one Father in heaven. We are fully reconciled to Him, and to each other. O the wisdom and the power and the patience of our God!
