In the 23rd Psalm, David says that goodness and mercy would follow him all the days of his life. Elsewhere in the Scriptures it says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Maybe if we slowed down and became still, the goodness and mercy of the Lord could catch up with us and rest upon our souls.
Yet we run in life…as if we are running from something that we don’t want to catch us. We crowd our minds with busy thoughts. We’re nervous about taking a few minutes just to sit and be still in the silence. As a result, there’s no time to find the Lord…or should we say, to let Him find us.
You don’t have to be afraid of being caught by Jesus Christ. It’s a good thing. Let it happen.
