God has done many great things. He created the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and all that is in them. And He did so in such a way that scientists, as long as there have been scientists, have continued to discover new aspects of His creation and therefore have had to periodically revise their theories about how it all works. (Note: Their revisions will continue.)
God also performed great works through the descendants of Abraham when He brought them out of slavery in Egypt by mighty signs and miracles. He fed the Israelites manna in the desert, gave them water from a rock, and brought down the walls of Jericho – just to mention a few.
Then there were the miracles that God did through the life and ministry of Israel’s flower, Jesus of Nazareth. He gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf – and many other miracles, too many to actually count.
All these works of God, however, were surpassed by the work He did when He raised Jesus from the dead and made Him Lord over heaven and earth. Christ (or, Messiah) was the greatest work of God by far. Nothing He did before – and nothing He has done since – and nothing He will ever do – will be as great as that work.
Jesus Christ Himself is God’s greatest work. He fills the heavens and the earth – invisibly, yes, but fills them nonetheless. He will forgive your sin. He will walk with you and talk with you every day. He will be your friend.
We cannot fully appreciate the greatness of God’s work in Christ because we have overlooked it, taken it for granted, failed to give it the attention that it is due. That can change now. Give your attention to Him who died for your sins and was raised forevermore. You will find that there is far more to Him than you have ever realized. Everything you need for life can be found in Him. Everything. Stop looking for something less when something greater is right before you!
